Let’s be honest, finding jewelry on Etsy is easy. Finding something that says, ‘I’m unique. I stand out from the crowd. I should possibly be committed to an institution and be kept from small children.’ can be a little challenging sometimes.
Etsy artisans are on hand to solve your problem!
The Incredibly Odd Eye Ring by AmazingOwl cries out for attention while taking a look at its own surroundings.
‘As for the reason or inspiration behind these things... we hoard craft materials. We save random bits and pieces because they might come in handy in the future, and sometimes we get supplies that interest us before we have a solid plan of what to do with them.’ says Asia Cole. ‘This is what happened with the acrylic doll eyes we purchased over the internet. I don't think we realized how beautiful and cool they were going to be, or how big - they are almost the size of real human eyes! We saved them, waiting for a project that would really use them to their best advantage, until a stroke of random inspiration, and our love of the bizarre, prompted us to make our very first needle-felted eye ring.'
I wonder what it’s like to be a kid near this workshop.
‘I doubt there are many other homes where, in the wee hours of the morning, you will hear this plaintive call: "Mooom! I've lost my jar of eyeballs!"’ says Asia.
Indeed.
Well, the weird bus has a few more stops to make today folks!
