The week ahead: November and December 2011 events in Colorado Springs

Even though the holidays are fast approaching, there is a lot to do in Colorado Springs besides just shopping!

Here are some fun events to attend in our local Colorado Springs area.  Click on the link to find out the details of the event.

In addition to the wonderful events above, remember that Saturday 11/26/11 is Small Business Saturday...a day to Shop Small.

There's also always the great outdoors in Colorado Springs.  The weather for the week ahead is supposed to be wonderful!  It's a great week to get the family outside for a nice walk. 

The Festival of Lights Parade is also coming up in the week ahead.  It's on Saturday December 3rd.  The theme this year is Through the Eyes of a Child.  It begins at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, starting at the corner of Tejon and St Vrain streets, and proceeding south on Tejon to Vermijo Avenue.  Check out the website here.

Saturday December 3rd is also the day for the Pioneers Museum Holiday Festival.  There’s music and entertainment, including the Springs Singers, a magician, crafts, activities for kids and more, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  The address is 215 South Tejon Street and there is no cost.

Another holiday tradition in Colorado Springs is Tuba Christmas.  Join the musicians as they congregate in Acacia Park before the Festival of Lights Parade, 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, Acacia Park bandshell, downtown Tejon Street.  There is no cost.  Check out the website here.
