The Lancaster Road Runners Club (LRRC) holds regularly scheduled runs on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Every Sunday LRRC members meet at Long’s Park for a run from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday runs will vary in location and are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening includes a run followed by fellowship at a local eatery. Tuesday’s run this week is at the Paradise Community Park. Thursday’s run is at Shenk’s Ferry.
Registration for Shadey’s Rugged Run closes on Friday, 12 April. The fee is $80. The Run is 3.5 mile muddy obstacle course slated for Saturday, 27 April at the Lancaster Bible College, 901 Eden Rd. The Run benefits both the Lancaster Bible College Athletic Department and Penn State Hershey Children’s Miracle Network. For more information, visit http://www.shadeysruggedrun.com.
The 13 April Run for Hope in Millersville benefits the ARPKD/CHF Alliance. Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) and Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis (CHF) are rare genetic diseases. Registration is $25 for adults and $13 for children under 14. Student registration is $15, with ID presented the day of the race. It closes 11 April. The 21st Annual Sauder’s Egg Run & Walk will be held Saturday, 13 April. The event will take place at the Lititz Fire Company on W. Main Street. Register before 5 April to receive a t-shirt and a discounted price.
April is Autism Awareness Month. The Edge of Autism 5K Run, 1k Walk, and Festival Event will be held Saturday, 13 April at the Schreiber Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster. The event will include a 5K run, a walk and a festival with games and crafts and face painting. Proceeds will benefit the Tommy Foundation and Lancaster County Autism Mommies. Walk Them Home 2013 is scheduled for this coming Saturday, 13 April. It will be held at Long’s Park and will benefit the Bethany Christian Services. Registration and check ins begin at 9 a.m. The 5K is slated to begin at 10 a.m. with awards following. After the awards, there will be a chicken BBQ as well.
