Tuesday, December 13
CIAN (the Chicago Independent Artists’ Network) is having its Holiday Party from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Wishbone Restaurant on 3300 North Lincoln for film, theater and artistic production individuals. Wednesday, December 14
The Midwest premiere of A Christmas Story, The Musical! opens at the Chicago Theatre. Produced by the film’s original Ralphie, Peter Billingsley, the show runs through December 30, 2011. Across town, Poncho y Papaya—A Clown Tragedy performs Wednesdays at 9:30 pm, through December 21 at Gorilla Tango Theatre. The ensemble piece follows four clowns (Aaron Kohan, Andy Knuth, Melissa Cameron, and Toph Enany) through absurdity and tragedy. For a $12 ticket, call 773-598-4549.

Thursday, December 15
Now being performed in London at the National’s Cottesloe Theatre, Collaborators will be broadcast to an Evanston campus audience at the Josephine Louis Theater on 20 Arts Circle Drive. The new play by screenwriter John (Trainspotting) Hodge is directed by National Theatre Artistic Director Nicholas Hytner. Friday, December 16
Raven Theater, on 6157 N. Clark, presents a live, radio-style presentation of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Goose by Michael Menendian and John Weagly, adapted from Arthur Conan Doyle's The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle. The performance features Larry Carani, Stacie Doublin, Frederick Harris, Dean La Prairie, Sophia Menendian, JoAnn Montemurro, Ian Novak, Kelli Strickland, and Anthony Tournis as well as live musical accompaniment, humorous commercials, and an audience sing-a-long. At 8:00 pm on 3716 W Fullerton Avenue, saki is hosting an After Hours: A Christmas Mansion Holiday Party! which includes performances by Ami Saraiya and The Outcome, Bob Dey's Tank Engine Man, an ugly sweater contest, holiday cookie exchange, The Christmas Freakout Room, and festive DJ sets from saki staffers. 

Sunday, December 18
Anonymous 4—the renowned virtuosic, all-female quartet specializing in medieval music—will give two shows in the Art Institute of Chicago's Fullerton Hall (at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm).
