It's hard to believe that by the end of the coming week Halloween will be past and we will be into November. The year is flying by! But one thing is true for past, present, and future. The blues are always there for us!
Here is what's happening in blues around Atlanta in the coming week:
Monday, Lefty Williams hosts the jam at Bella's Pizza in Smyrna. Truett Lollis and his friends are at Darwin's in Marietta and Barrelhouse Bob pages at Blind Willie's. Dry White Toast is at Fat Matt's and Rod Hamdallah is at Nik's Place in Marietta.
Tuesday, The Cazanovas are at Blind Willie's. and Bill Sheffield hosts the jam at Darwin's. JT Speed is at Fat Matt's and Locals Bar and Grill in Acworth hosts a Tuesday Night Jam. Nathan Nelson and Entertainment Crackers are at Northside Tavern.
Wednesday, Darwin's Pro Jam will have a guest host. Come out and see who's filling in while John McKnight is on tour! The Electromatics are at Blind Willie's with special guests for a Halloween Hump Night Party and The Hollidays are at Fat Matt's. Alexis Vear and Stephen “The BluesDude” Duncan host the open mic at Hottie Hawgs. Mudcat is at Northside Tavern. The Breeze Kings and Tommy Brown are at Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint.
Thursday, The Stooge Brothers are at Blind Willie's and The Cazanovas host the jam at Darwin's. Chickenshack is at Fat Matt's and Nathan Nelson is at Nik's Place. The Cedric Burnside Project is at Red Light Cafe and The Breeze Kings are at Northside Tavern. The Mar-Tans are at Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint.
Friday, information gets sketchy as I have not received the November schedules yet. However, I do know that Darwin's is closed for a private party and The Barry Richman Band is playing at Nik's Place.
Sunday, Hugh Laurie brings his Copper Bottom Band to the Buckhead Theatre. Gina Sicilia is at Smith's Olde Bar and Marshall Ruffin is at Eddie's Attic. Locals Bar and Grill has a Sunday Night Jam and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern.
That's it for the coming week. Please feel free to add local blues events in the comments and on the Keep the Blues Alive page on Facebook! Have fun, happy Halloween, and keep on bluesin'!
