The week ahead: Find the blues in and around Atlanta, March18-24

Hi, all. This week brings the official start of spring and it's a great time to get out and listen to some live music. Here's where to find great live blues music every day this week.

Monday, it's The Truett Lollis Trio heating things up at Darwin's in Marietta. Bill Sheffield visits Blind Willie's and Pead Boy and the Pork Bellies are at Fat Matt's. Lola hosts the jam at Northside Tavern.

Tuesday, The Hollidays are at Blind Willie's and Bill Sheffield hosts the acoustic jam at Darwin's. Gray Sartin is at Fat Matt's.

Wednesday, Little G Weevil comes to Darwin's and The Electromatics are at Blind Willie's. Billy George is at Fat Matt's. John McKnight and Co. host the jam at Nik's Place in Marietta and The Breeze Kings are at Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint.

Thursday, Sandra Hall and The Shadows are at Blind Willie's and The Cazanovas host the jam at Darwin's. The Breeze Kings are at Northside Tavern.

Friday, it's The Mike Delaney Project at Darwin's. The Blues Barons are at Fat Matt's and The Breeze Kings are at North River Tavern in Sandy Springs.

Saturday brings us to one of two special events this weekend. That event is the annual Chicken Raid in honor of Mr. Frank Edwards. The raid continues through Sunday and includes many blues legends and popular musicians. Read more about it in my article here.

The other special event this weekend is the reunion of The Fedora Blues Band at Darwin's. This will probably be the final reunion as several members are moving away, so don't miss the opportunity!

And then, in case Saturday was not full enough, Delta Moon is at Blind Willie's. Big C and Velvet Delta are at Fat Matt's and Nathan Morgan is at Nik's Place,

If you survive all that, Sunday has more Chicken Raid, plus Rod Hamdallah at Nik's Placem The Trio and Francine Reed are at The Family Dog. Snake Legs are at Fat Matt's.

What a week! Have fun, pace yourself but keep on bluesin'!
