The week ahead: Feb. 5-10

The lacrosse season begins in earnest this weekend with three games on the sked; two Division I games and a Division III tilt to get the season going. All three will be on Saturday, February 9:

Penn State @ Michigan 1pm at Oosterbaan (Ann Arbor)

PSU’s Nick Dolik will enjoy the homecoming; he’s a Brother Rice grad and leads the Nittnany Lions from the midfield spot. Michigan has two players that hail from Pennsylvania – Junior, Jeff Chu and Freshman Dan Kinek. I’m sure the adrenaline will be pumping for those guys.

Detroit @ Ohio State 1pm in Columbus, OH

The Titans head to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes in a non-conference match-up. This should be a good measuring stick for Detroit. OSU will be athletic and physical, but the Titans have played them tough the past two years, losing 11-6 in 2012 and 4-3 in 2011. The road to the MAAC Championship begins Saturday.

Calvin vs. Carthage 1pm at Ultimate Soccer in Pontiac

The Kamstra era at Calvin will get underway on Saturday as the Knights play Carthage. This will be the first Division III game for Calvin. Good luck, guys!

Lacrosse is back – enjoy!
