Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens is situated along the banks of the beautiful Rock River in Sinnissippi Gardens. The facility opened at the end of October 2011 and is now the 3rd largest conservatory in Illinois. The site will be recognized as LEED certified standard for measuring building sustainable.

Saturday - Feb. 2, 2013 - Vanilla Orchid Presentation by Ken Cameron, at 1:00 pm. Learn about the Vanilla Orchid is the only orchid of agricultural value. Come and learn all about this fascinating plant with orchid expert, author, and UW-Madison professor Ken Cameron. Book signing of Cameron's book to follow.
Saturday, Feb. 2 & 16, 2013 - 9:00 am - 12 pm. Atwood Center (Atwood Park). Atwood Wanderings - Wilderness Explorer. The forest doesn't go away in the winter. Join Atwood for a hike through the woods to search for animals, animal homes, animal tracks and other signs that animals have been there. Indoor activities will include a humorous educational puppet show and a live Birds Prey presentation. Hot cocoa and a cookie will be provided after the hike. For ages 6 - 12 and the cost for residents is $7.00, non-residents is $9.00 Preregistration is required.
