The Week Ahead in Bucks County - Feb. 19 - 25, 2012

There is a lot going on this week in Bucks County, from bridal shows to local food tastings, there is something for everyone.

 

 

On Sunday, Feb. 19 from 2-6 p.m. the Bucks County Visitor Center will host a bridal show with many different wedding and event vendors. The event is free and open to the public. Visit the Visitor Center online for information. 

 

The Doylestown Bookshop hosts the Penguin Young Readers Group's second annual Breathless Reads National Panel on Feb. 19 from 4-6 p.m. The lineup includes Marie Lu (Legend), Andrea Cremer (the Nightshade series), Beth Revis (the Across the Universe series), and Jessica Spotswood (Born Wicked). The Perkasie Fire Company is hosting its 3rd annual Blood Drive on Monday, Feb. 20 from 1:30 - 7:30 p.m. in honor of the Memory of Fire Police Captain Ron Dietrich. To sign up, visit the department’s website. 

 

The Professional and Business Singles Network provides live piano entertainment with Bobby Lee and a cash bar with complimentary butlered hors doeuvres (from 6:30-7 p.m.) at the Blue Bell Inn on Feb. 20. After examining Henry Mercer’s Babylonian tablets, children, age 6 – 12, will get to practice cuneiform, one of the earliest forms of writing and make their own Babylonian tablet at Fonthill Museum in Doylestown on Monday, Feb. 20.  Registration is required. On Feb. 23, 2012 Superior Woodcraft and the DBCA will host the 3rd Locavore Buy Local Bucks County Business Community event in Doylestown. The event is to raises awareness of local businesses and local farms. Locavore is free and open to the public from 5-8 p.m. Visit the DBCA online for information. 

 

The Crossing Vineyards & Winery in Washington Crossing will host a wine tasting for singles on Friday, Feb. 24,at  7 p.m. The event will include wine, cheese and music. The cost is $10. Call for reservations at 215-493-6500, ext. 19 or buy online.   

 

Sponsored by the Quakertown Knights of Columbus, the fish fry will be held at the Knights new home and event hall, 1101 Anna Ln. in Sellersville on Feb. 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. Get a great meal and support the local Quakertown Knights of Columbus charities. The Bristol Riverside Theater presents Pinkalicious on Saturday, Feb. 25.  Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents.
