The Week Ahead: Baltimore Writing Education: June 30 – July 6

Many Baltimore area writing groups are taking a summer break from monthly meetings. This week’s events are reader-driven. If you’re new to writing, take time to visit and listen to other writers. You’ll learn something from their experiences.

July 1, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – The Ivy Bookshop hosts poet and memoirist Rita Zoey Chin. She’ll present a talk on Let the Tornado Come, her new book which was released on June 24, 2014. The tickets are free but the store asks that attendees RSVP on the store website. Seating is limited. The Ivy Bookshop is located at 6080 Falls Road, Baltimore, 21209.

July 3, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – Author Anand Pandian will discuss his book Ayya's Accounts: A Ledger of Hope in Modern India at The Ivy Bookshop Attendees should RSVP on the store website. Tickets are free but seating is limited. The Ivy Bookshop is located at 6080 Falls Road, Baltimore, 21209. NPR’s Scott Simon interviewed Mr. Pandian in April about his book.

Books will be on sale at both events. Authors Chin and Pandian are available to sign their books after the presentations.
