The book launch party for her new full-length poetry collection, *The Horizontal Poet* (Zeitgeist Press), will be hosted by Linda Joan Zeiser and Carolyn Stull Zeiser, who helped make the book a reality. In attendance will be poet Julia Vinograd (The Berkeley Bubble Lady), who edited the book; artist Deborah Vinograd, who painted the reclining nude (Jan) on the front cover; and her husband Hew Wolff, her own personal constructive critic, copy editor, web designer, photographer and celestial sherpa (per Marv Hiemstra).  The book is getting good reviews so far and has been nominated for a Lambda Literary Award:

After that will be some book signing, hanging out, general milling around, possibly some jamming. If you're a good musician, bring your instrument, please! You can bring a dish to share at 6:30, or just show up for the 7:30 reading. Hope you can come celebrate with us!

Jan Steckel is the author of The Horizontal Poet (Lambda Literary Award Nominee), Mixing Tracks (Gertrude Press Fiction Chapbook award winner) and The Underwater Hospital (Rainbow Award winner).
