I just became aware of this- Apparently a brand new movie coming out-
From the War on Kids website:
Blame for problems with schooling in America is often assigned to insufficient funding or the inherent failings of today’s kids. In rare cases, parents, teachers, and administrators are also implicated. However, all efforts to improve the quality of education are doomed to fail if the system itself is not examined and understood to be the most significant impediment. After over six years in the making, THE WAR ON KIDS reveals that the problems with public education ultimately stem from the institution itself. Astonishingly all efforts at reform consistently avoid even considering this to be a possibility and the future for children and American democracy are at stake.
In 95 minutes, THE WAR ON KIDS exposes the many ways the public school system has failed children and our future by robbing students of all freedoms due largely to irrational fears. Children are subjected to endure prison-like security, arbitrary punishments, and pharmacological abuse through the forced prescription of dangerous drugs. Even with these measures, schools not only fail to educate students, but the drive to teach has become secondary to the need to control children.

What would one expect sending their children to a UN control RE-EDUCATION camp - designed specifically to make A SLAVE and DESTROY the family "disease" (as they call it). In CUBA - They hand off the child to "the State" ... period. This is where they want to go. Now - they are pushing YEAR ROUND SCHOOL to keep the kids in STATE CONTROL and ALIENATE them from their parents ...by ANY MEANS..and BUST THOSE KIDS DOWN HARD ..show them WHO THE RULER IS! THE STATE!!!
Hello,
After watching the video, I wondered where are the parents? If the school system is so very bad then the parents need to get together and start marching in front of the schools. Or maybe things are not really that bad.

To "onefatherslove"-
Yes, things really ARE "that bad". Most parents are over-whelmed with just trying to keep their heads above water, and fighting with the schools is just not an option.
And how many times have you heard people say "I know the schools are bad, but NOT MY KIDS' school".
As for "fixing it" my own mother was on the PTA in the late 50's and early 60's when the Feds started taking over the schools. She opposed it and was heckled, razzed, and made fun of by the "school professionals".
Turns out, this was the "Delphi Technique" in use-

Short of another American Revolution or French Revolution, the solution is HOME SCHOOL.
The Bill of Rights prohibits Congress from making any law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, forbids infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms" and prohibits the federal government from depriving any person of life, liberty, or property, without "due process of law & equal protection of the laws!
I believe every possible opportunity should be made for every child to have as much full access to both parents as is physically possible. I believe that all children deserve their rights and that all children should have unlimited access to both parents and all extended family as well...!
As a Citizen of the United States, I feel very strongly that "We The People" must ensure that our children are consistently afforded "Inalienable, Fundamental Rights" which each and every child is born with. These Rights should be protected, preserved and enforced!

RE: Leonard,
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I can understand your fight or flight response to the adverse situations some school environments place their students into. Myself, I am not the kind of person to give up on anything to do with my own child, that means taking my child out of school and home schooling is not an option. At the very least I would not want to set an example to my child that giving up and going home to bury my head in the sand is the way to respond to life. The answer to everything is not a revolution, the answer is "parent involvement". A parent can also place their child into a Charter school, or into a Private school.
-Sacramento Community Family Resources
A very good reason to consider home education.
Dear onefatherslove;
By your last comment I guess I have my head stuck in the sand. I am a homeschooler, and I am fighting for my child. Where the Constitution of this once great land states that we have a right to teach our own children and my own state even says I have a right to teach my own child, the "Child Protective Services" is trying to say that I don't. When the court system even stated that I do indeed have that right, they started in on other things. Falsely accused of all kinds of things, and I have to PROVE that I am fit. My child is/was above her grade level before they took her 7 (Yes, 7!)months ago. They put her back into public school and what has happened? She is sick, infested, hurt & sexually harrassed. Did she have those problems before at home? NO. She has been computer literate for years, but they are taking credit for "Teaching" her how to use one. She is falling behind in areas that she was already having trouble. She has Dyslexia - Math and Reading. She's 7

Wow. Are you saying you are FROM Sacramento Community Family Resources, or did you intend that as a reference?
So you are OK with your kids being taught what a great guy Harvey Milk was, your kids being encouraged to "try out" homosexuality, your daughter getting an abortion without your knowledge, and all the other great wonderful things the insane Public School system in California does?
Wow. Wow. Wow.
The only "public" school in CA worth sending kids to might be that Indian Charter School- They teach the Constitution and real old American Civics there. And NONE of that insane lefty crap.
I can't find it now. They were in the news a few months ago for having the TOP education success rate in California.
Hello,
What I am okay with are parents stepping up and taking responsibility for what people teach their children. My comment said that there are other options in addition to home schooling that is available, such as charter schools, private schools, and good old fashioned parent involvement. An example of parent involvement can be spending time as a volunteer or intern within our childrens' school. I believe that "children" in our country have a right to be home schooled, attend public school or private school. Anyway, how come you do not suggest charter schools and private schools as an option?
-Sacramento Community Family Resources
To "onefatherslove"-
Yo- Did you read my last message to you? I am guessing you know all about that Indian Charter School I referred to.
As a matter of fact the President of AFRA lives in California and he sends his kids to a Charter School. He is HIGHLY involved with both the school and his kids' education at home.
I just looked up "Sacramento Community Family Resources", which is- interestingly, www.onefatherslove.com/
AFRA President Bill Tower isn't far from you, and I am betting you have run into him at one of the political functions.
Hello,
Well thank you for the plug. Something I want to add, or concede, is that I am aware that some public schools need a lot of help. I spent several hours in my child's kindergarten classroom in order to prevent a suspension. Once my son finished kindergarten I decided I was not going to battle the school system by myself for another 10 years and enrolled him into a charter school. The main reason for my decision is that of the 20 other students in the class, none of the parents did anything to help their children's situation. My son started out a few years ago in special education, and now he is in the Smyth Academy doing very well. I was even the Smyth Academy Parent Teacher Organization President, but I resigned because they are all dong a fine job. My point and message is that I never backed down, I stood up and represented my son every step of the way by staying focused on his rights, and my responsibilities.
To the lady that mentioned CPS, I have had my own trouble with C

Giving people "plugs" is exactly what AFRA does. We promote people who are supplying LEADERSHIP in helping families.
Re- CPS. I would bet you have had issues with CPS. Your kid is "special needs" and he is worth about $12,000 to $19,000 a month as a "special needs consumer" in their Residential Treatment being doped out of his skull.
The FRAUD with CPS is beyond estimation. It is an Organized Crime Ring.
Hello,
My child is now mainstream and even earned an "A" in class. As for CPS, I will save that topic for the next time you write a story about them. It is great to talk to you. Send me an email through our website if you ever want to talk. -Sacramento Community Family Resources

By the way, the Examiner welcomes new competent experts in their field to become columnists. It looks to me like you qualify.
When a new Examiner signs on, the person who "sponsors" him gets $50. Not me however. I refuse to be paid. Maybe cite Greg Smart the San Diego Examiner?

I wish we could afford a "charter school" or private one. I homeschool when she is home because I tried to be at her public school and since I don't drive, I couldn't do it, add to that the teacher and I "butted heads" from before day one. "Your daughter would make a great FOSTER child." I hadn't had any trouble for the year before and this teacher caused more trouble than she was worth. My daughter decided that she wanted to go back to homeschooling, so we did. The teacher nor CPS liked that. They took her, after having signed documents stating that she was doing well and that they had saw her work. Teacher sent lies to court, we didn't get told that she was doing so. She was sent home earlier than they wanted to though. She has been doing ahead of her grade level most of her life. I started teaching her very early (You start out with fun stuff so they don't even know that they are learning.)and she knew quite a bit before preschool. Have a nice day.
