"The Walking Dead" webisode series premiere date has been announced and will start next week. According to a press release sent out on Sept. 26, the series will kick off on Oct. 1 and is titled "The Oath."
There will be three episodes in "The Walking Dead" webisode series and they can be found on the AMC YouTube channel. The three episodes were conceived, directed and produced by "The Walking Dead" executive producer Greg Nicotero.
Each of "The Walking Dead" webisode series episodes will last between seven to 10 minutes as it follows two survivors who are racing across the country trying to find a safe hospital as one of them slowly bleeds out. When they find one, they encounter another living person who might be more dangerous than the zombies they have been avoiding.
Wyatt Russell ("Cowboys & Aliens") and Ashley Bell ("The Last Exorcism") star as the two survivors while Ellen Greene ("Little Shop of Horrors") stars as the doctor.
Nicotero said that the new "The Walking Dead" webisode series will allow them to focus on people outside of our core base of survivors, helping to open the world up a little bit more. This might be also part of the way that the producers plan on building to the new spin-off series, kicking off in 2015.
"The Walking Dead" webisode series will also tie into the AMC series by using one of the "most iconic images from the series."
"The Walking Dead" returns to television on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EST.
