We are now just a couple of weeks away from the return of season 4 of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” On Jan. 23, Spoiler TV shared the synopsis for the kick-off episode entitled “After.”

“As Rick deals with old wounds, members of the prison have to come to terms with their new environment and ask themselves if survival alone is enough.”

The episode was written by Robert Kirkman and directed by George Nicotero.

In a report posted on E! Online on Jan. 24, Andrew Lincoln, aka Rick Grimes in ‘TWD’, said the second half of the season is going to bring a whole new kind of horror.

"The back eight [episodes] feels like a whole new season. We're moving into a much more psychological horror," Lincoln says.

The series will pick up just after the war on the prison, with the survivors scattered to the four winds. Some will be on their own and in search of their friends. Without the protection of the barbed wire fences, the zombie world is a whole bigger and a whole lot scarier.

One of the executive producers, Greg Nicotero, warns viewers to be on the watch for "really personal moments between our characters."

Among the changes you’ll see include Maggie venting her grief through anger and aggression; Rick trying to be even more protective of Carl and Michonne looking for peace at last.
