You've watched the show, and several of your gaming geeks played the RPG The Walking Dead Episodes. Now gamers are given the chance to play Survival Instinct, focused on the two brothers of the South: Daryl and Merle.
The game is a switch from what gamers were given before. The RPG had several twists at what players could do each time, making sure that such choices had been massive ripples in the lake that they were playing in. To switch things up, Activision has decided to take a First-Person Shooter approach to this game. While they want to make sure that it isn't another chalk mark on the board like several other games that have been released in the past few years (the Call of Duty series, Battlefield series, ect). Activision wanted it to stand out by making the player gather supplies and other gear that they will be useful in the long run. They also give players the choice to either fight the zombies straight on, or be smart about it. Choosing to avoid the or take out key targets so they are not detected and move on safely.
Like any Walking Dead fan, gamers are going to want to know how this directly ties in with the TV show. Daryl and Merle are teaming up before they meet up with others and Rick in Atlanta. Gamers and fans alike will assume the role of Daryl, following his brother through the Georgia Countryside and try to survive as well as they can.
The game is set to release on March 19th, 2013. It will be featured on the 360, PS3, Wii U, and the PC.
