Activision and Terminal Reality announced some pre-order bonuses for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of their upcoming game The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct earlier today.
Players who pre-order the game from GAME (UK) or GameStop (Republic of Ireland) will receive the Walker Herd Survival Pack DLC pack for free. The Walker Herd Survival Pack includes the following bonuses:
- In this exclusive DLC pack you will have access to the all-new Herd Mode where you need to fight for survival against endless waves of walkers. The dead need no rest – will you? In addition, fight off walkers in the story mode with a new arsenal of melee weapons including a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, reinforced hatchet and advanced machete. With ammo scarce and the undead attracted to loud noises, a sharp, silent blade might just be your most trusted companion (note: a new game must be started to access the extra weapons).
Gamers in the United States who pre-order the game from GameStop will get the Herd Mode Challenge as free DLC as well as a Walker Ear Keychain. If you pre-order from Amazon, you'll get The Walker Execution Pack DLC pack free which gives you all the melee weapons listed above (knife, kukri, hatchet, and machete). Basically, U.S. gamers get half the bonuses that those in the UK do. Bummer.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is scheduled to be released in North America on March 19th and then across Europe on March 22nd. It'll be available on a variety of platforms including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U.
