The maybe-cannibals at Terminus are about to get Rick-rolled. In a July 2 sneak peek of "The Walking Dead" posted on Entertainment Weekly, actress Lauren Cohen talked about just how dark the first episode of season 5 will be. "This episode is so disturbing. Some of the stuff they shot yesterday, I don’t know if it’ll make it to TV," she said.
Cohen's fellow cast members were also wowed by the season 5 opener. Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln dubbed it the "most ambitious first episode" in "Walking Dead" history, and Daryl Dixon portrayer Norman Reedus revealed that he couldn't stop saying "Oh my God" while reading the script. When it shocks the winner of the Biggest A** Kicker Award, you know that there's some pretty insane stuff going on.
When "The Walking Dead" fans last saw Rick Grimes and the other survivors, they were locked up in a train car and surrounded by the gun-wielding Termites who corralled them up. Rick is definitely in one tough pickle, but it sounds like the survivors' neck-noshing leader might help his friends find freedom by revisiting that very dark place that he visited when he saved Carl from getting raped.
Luckily, two of the most beloved characters on "The Walking Dead" won't be stuck in that train car for too long, so if the survivors are going to kill the Termites in a murderous rampage, it's going to happen pretty early on in the season. Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus were recently photographed filming together on a hospital set, so Rickyl fans will be glad to learn that their favorite bromantic pair will be spending some quality time together. Unfortunately, the hospital location could indicate that one of the members of their group is in dire need of medical attention after escaping Terminus. Perhaps the Termites cut off an arm or a leg to throw on the barbecue.
According to Wetpaint, fans might also get to see a long-awaiting reunion early on in season 5. Spoiling Dead Fans actually managed to snap a photo of characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) filming together, so Caryl shippers should be very happy (sorry, Bethyl shippers). However, Daryl has to forgive Carol for become a coldblooded killer before things can go back to the way they were.
The survivors might be able to escape becoming Termite teriyaki, but in-fighting within the group could cause some serious issues. According to Andrew Lincoln, season 5 of "The Walking Dead" will be all about hierarchy. Since they're both used to being in charge, it's not hard to imagine Rick and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) going at it. Rick will also have to decide what should happen with Carol now that she's back in the picture. So what are you looking forward to more: all the "disturbing" stuff or the Caryl reunion?
