On Sunday, March 23 the first sneak peek at "A," the season four finale of "The Walking Dead" was posted by SpoilerTV and features Carl learning how to track from Rick. The one minute long promo reveals that Rick, Carl and Michonne have yet to reach Terminus, but they do stumble on someone new.
The clip opens with Rick crouching down by a torn branch on the ground to collect the most recent catch and showing Carl how to make a slipknot to keep the trap together. Michonne is standing nearby watching to make sure no walkers are approaching. Rick shows Carl that placing the some branches in a funnel shape underneath the branch creates a trail for the animals to follow. Then the animals get caught in the trap and the three of them have dinner.
Carl is about to reset the trap when someone is heard screaming for help. Carl immediately goes running off into the woods. He leaves Rick and Michonne behind although Rick is yelling for him to stop. The man in trouble could simply be a ruse to get Carl out in the open away from Rick and Michonne, in a situation similar to the comics. Or the man could really be in trouble, but the series doesn't usually go for the obvious scenario.
"A" will air on Sunday, March 30 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Tune in to find out if any of the other groups make it to Terminus and whether the new location really is a safe zone or simply a cover for the "new evil" which is expected to make an appearance. The episode is the final episode of the fourth season, and production on the fifth season will begin in May near Atlanta with a premiere date in October.
