Finally, after a long mid-season break, "The Walking Dead" Season 4 is back with episode 9, "After." The mid-season premiere debuted on AMC on Sunday, February 9. Fans were glad to see that the return of the walker-apocalypse show picked up just seconds after episode 8, "Too Far Gone." Note that spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up to "The Walking Dead" or missed the premiere.

Episode 9 “After,” opens with the wrecked prison, packed with walkers. Michonne emerges from the woods; she turns two walkers into her new pets and finds Hershel’s now turned walker-head. In an emotional scene, she puts him down. Credits begin.

When it returns, Carl and Rick are walking down a road. Poor beaten down Rick can barely keep up and asks Carl to slow down. They go to a bar, and after arguing about who keeps watch, both go in and search for food.

Meanwhile, Michonne finds Rick and Carl’s tracks. The scene cuts to Carl and Rick finding a house and deciding to stay there for shelter. After more arguing between the Grimes voice and making the place safe, the scene cuts back to Michonne’s flashback, which slowly reveals itself to be just a dream (or more like nightmare) Michonne had from her past.

In her dream, Michonne is with her boyfriend Mike, her son, and Mike’s friend. The dream changes up three times, one before the walker outbreak, shortly after it started, and then well into it - with Mike and his friend missing their arms and Michonne's son gone.

Back to the Grime boys – Carl wakes up to a passed out Rick. He attempts to wake up his dad but fails and goes to lure away the walkers that have gathered outside the house. They later have another argument.

Michonne is closing in on them, finding the sports bar. She begins to talk to her imaginary boyfriend –like in the comics. Before she did not want to follow the tracks of Rick and Carl, but later decides to.

Michonne finds the house and after tearing up, knocks on the door. Rick looks through the peephole to see who it is and chuckles, telling Carl, “it’s for you.”

"After" was a little on the slow side, but it's good to get some character development and settle down a bit before kicking into high gear - which is what the rest of the season is rumored to be!

“The Walking Dead” Season 4 airs episode 10, "Inmates," on Sunday, February 16. If you can't wait to find out what happens next, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to catch the latest spoilers on your newsfeed!
