'The Walking Dead' spoilers: Daryl's fate in season 4

On Friday, February 28 Wetpaint Entertainment posted spoilers about Daryl Dixon on the fourth season of "The Walking Dead," the AMC drama that follows survivors after a zombie apocalypse. Dixon, portrayed by actor Norman Reedus, has appeared on the series since early in season one and is considered a fan favorite.

The character was created for the television series and has never appeared in the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, which the series is based on. The upcoming twelfth episode, "Still," will focus on Daryl and Beth Greene as they struggle to survive together in the wilderness. Last summer, Kirkman revealed that no one is safe from death on the series, and fans have threatened to riot if Daryl dies. Kirkman has mentioned that he feels like fans are "daring him to kill Daryl," but if the series does than fans may stop watching the show.

Reedus has joked that the character might die in "the back eight" episodes of season four, although he was spotted filming in Georgia up until the season finale. New cast member Josh McDermitt, who plays Dr. Eugene Porter on the series, recently tweeted a joke that Daryl "definitely" dies in the next episode, but major spoilers usually aren't revealed in Twitter question and answer sessions. It would be shocking for Daryl to die at the end of his standalone episode in season four, but Reedus will be appearing on the after show "Talking Dead" which usually has cast members as guests for the same episode in which they die.

"Still" will air on Sunday, March 2 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Tune in to find out if Daryl makes it out of the episode alive. Daryl will continue to hunt and kill wildlife for food, while he struggles with the aftermath of the prison attack and begins to act more like his season one self. Reedus is credited for appearing in the final five episodes of season four, but that could be a misdirection.

A fifth season of the show has been ordered by AMC and filming is expected to begin outside Atlanta in May. However, no cast members have been confirmed as returning and most likely won't be until after the season four finale airs at the end of March.
