On Friday, January 24 Wetpaint Entertainment posted spoilers for the upcoming ninth episode of the fourth season of "The Walking Dead," which will be returning to AMC next month. The ninth episode, called "After," will follow how the characters survive in the aftermath of the prison attack.
Executive producers on the series have previously revealed that the ninth episode will be just like the comic books and feature Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) heavily. In a new sneak peek for the upcoming eight episodes, the cast discusses that the new episodes are "deeper and darker" than the first half of the season since the characters so longer have a safe haven.
"After" will also include a flashback dream sequence which might happen for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) since he is still in bad shape and the preview shows Carl trying to wake him up. It's possible Rick finds a bunch of antibiotics inside the house to help with his pain. Carl will be a major focus in the episode, finding shelter and killed walkers while he explores the nearby area.
The episode will also feature a lot of silence after the action packed midseason finale. The characters are all scattered in different places running from the walkers. Rick and Carl will have to draw the walkers away from the houses to search them for food and supplies. Rick is psychologically and physically damaged over the possible loss of Judith and his fight with The Governor.
"After" will air on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Tune in to find out how Rick and Carl survive in the aftermath of the prison attack. The remaining eight episodes of season four will include new characters from the comic books and new locations.
