Cable television network AMC has announced the 2013 edition of AMC Fearfest. The season four premiere of The Walking Dead will mark the start of the annual October celebration of horror movies and thrillers, the network announced this week. The hit zombie show kicks off its new season on October 13.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of "Cujo", the cinematic adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel. It also marks the 40th anniversary of the release of "The Exorcist." In addition, AMC will screen premieres of "Child's Play 2", "Child's Play 3", Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare", and the remakes of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "The Amityville Horror."
AMC Fearfest will run for nineteen days, and will feature the "Alien", "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" franchises. Each day during the marathon, AMC's website will host an online interactive horror movie trivia game. The cable television celebration of all things cinematic terror comes to a close on Halloween - October 31.
