The first trailer for “The Walking Dead” Season 5 was revealed this past week at Comic-Con. It features a lot of action, and of course, walkers. Since production began shooting this upcoming season, a lot of brutality and shocking scenes have been teased. Just how long do we have to wait for those scenes though? On Monday, CinemaBlend revealed that the wait won’t be long at all. Note that spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up to “The Walking Dead.”
According to the source, “The Walking Dead” will return in high gear with an intense introduction. “In fact, from what we were told at Comic-Con by some of the cast and writers, it sounds like the first six minutes of Season 5 are going to be brutal,” CinemaBlend shares.
Who spoiled that the first six minutes will be intense? Showrunner Scot Gimple and Andrew Lincoln (Rick) himself. About the scene, Lincoln says, “All of us were just dumbstruck and said, ‘We’re not going to be able to show this…’”
Remember episode 14 “The Grove” from Season 4? The events in that episode were very controversial. Also, who can forget the famous Rick bite? Is there a scene coming up in the first episode of Season 5 that tops these two? Apparently so.
No details have been spoiled from the cast and crew, but I’m guessing this has to do with Terminus’ cannibalism. My guess is that they will be showing people at Terminus helping themselves to human flesh, or preparing to cook up some flesh.
If you watch the trailer, pause at the 16 second mark. Rick spots a blurry scene. It appears to be a person leaning over a body. The image never comes to full focus, but it’s not hard to guess what could be going on.
Could this be the brutal speculation? If so, I wonder how much of it they will get away with showing. Can’t wait to find out! “The Walking Dead” Season 5 returns to AMC on October 12. Stay tuned for the latest spoilers and information.
