This may well be the most shocking and upsetting rumor to come out about season 5 of “The Walking Dead” so far. According to a report on Christian Today on May 31, there are rumors that Glenn Rhee’s death scene was recently filmed. Will he be the next major character killed off the show?

Glenn and Maggie were barely reunited in the second to last episode of season 4 after being apart for the whole season. In the finale, they were together in the boxcar at Terminus and Rick and his party were locked up there, too. Can’t these two catch a break?

Christian Today point to a social media fan page, The Spoiling Dead's Facebook page, where the administrators posted "RUMOR, we have heard from multiple sources about a possible death. Word is the death of Glenn was filmed yesterday/last night. It's possible it could be someone else, but multiple sources stated Glenn. Reports are the set was locked down last night and everyone was told to leave because the cast would not be coming out."

Also seen on the page was a post stating that Steven Yuen, who plays Glenn, was seen at 2 a.m., shaking hands and hugging production members as he left. Alanna Masterson, who plays Tara on the show, tweeted during the shoot, "when someone great is gone." She did not specify exactly who was gone.

Though there has been no confirmation of the death of Glenn, comic book fans know that he is indeed killed most brutally by Negan with a barb-wired baseball bat. Showrunner Scott Gimple did confirm in March, via Twitter, that new comic book characters, including Negan, would be joining the cast for season 5 though he would not commit to when.

Bustle also reported the rumored death and says it will happen early in season 5. They infer that the low number of deaths in season 4 means the producers will want to up the body count and shock value in season 5.

Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will return in the fall. No premiere date has been released yet.
