Ever since the news broke that Seth Gilliam was cast in season 5 of "The Walking Dead," fans have been speculating on his role. One popular theory was that he would play Father Gabriel Stokes, who is in the comics. According to a May 27 report by Wet Paint, Gillaim's character has been revealed and fans at the filming location had a glimpse. Normally it would be difficult to tell without hearing dialogue, but his outfit is what gave it away. So is the popular theory of him playing a priest correct?
If The Spoiling Dead Fans is accurate, which they have an excellent track record of being right, Seth Gilliam will be playing a priest. Whether that is Father Gabriel Stokes from the comics or not isn't known yet. The Facebook page for the spoiler site has been keeping fans up to date on filming. They wrote that more scenes were being filmed in Griffin, GA, and those present were Rick, Glenn, Bob, Sasha, Michonne and Maggie. Newcomer Seth Gilliam was also present, dressed in a black suit with a white collar.
This news should be exciting for fans. Those that have speculated that Father Gabriel would appear on "The Walking Dead" season 5 already have some theories on his storyline and the whereabouts of Beth. Previous spoiler reports stated that a house was rented for filming. The house had the windows boarded up with crosses painted on them. Sounds like a pretty strong indication that a priest would be staying there.
Fans have also reported that there is a vehicle at the house, although they say that this one is different than the car that sped off with Beth. Just recently, a scene involving a car chase was reported. Those visiting the set location also said that there was gunfire.
What do you think about Seth Gilliam playing a priest on "The Walking Dead?" Do you think the priest is Father Gabriel Stokes and if so, will his comic book character be a mirror of the television version? Or will they completely change him?
