On Friday, "The Walking Dead" season 5 trailer was released and it looks like it is going to be an incredible season. It was revealed that the television show will follow the comics much closer than they have in the past. One question fans have is whether Dr. Eugene Porter is telling the truth about a cure.
Even though the trailer didn't reveal if Eugene is being truthful, he did have a concerned look on his face when going to Washington D.C. was discussed. There are a lot of viewers who think that Eugene isn't telling the truth and that there is no cure. They believe that he is weak and knows his companions will protect him at all costs. In their minds, without him, they will never discover a cure for the zombie virus.
Those in Rick's group are hopeful when a possible cure is brought up. However, when they went to the CDC, they were told that everyone has the zombie virus. It is simply activated when they die. There also wasn't any communication with anyone. If there was a cure or if anyone was at least trying to figure it out, wouldn't they have communicated with the CDC?
It seems that Team Prison just wants a shred of hope and Eugene has given that to them. In season 5 of "The Walking Dead," they will travel to D.C. But what will happen if they get to D.C. only to discover that Eugene was lying?
The trailer shows Bob explaining that there might be a cure in D.C to Gareth. Revealing that bit of information seems to have saved their lives. In another scene, Gareth and the others talk about going to D.C. Since Gareth has no idea if they are telling the truth or just trying to escape their circumstances, he might travel with Team Prison. He isn't going to just take their word for it and let them go on their merry way. If there is no cure, Gareth will probably try to kill them all.
What do you think about Eugene's promise of a cure? Do you think he is being truthful or not? What will happen when Team Prison reaches Washington D.C.?
