On the mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead" the Governor and Hershel were both killed and baby Judith was presumed dead. However, there was no body and fans are wondering if she is really alive somewhere or if she truly died and they just didn't show a infants body on the screen. On Dec. 3, Wet Paint speculated on baby Judith's chances.
Warning: If you do not want to know "The Walking Dead" season 4 spoilers or fan speculation, then stop reading.
The first major clue that baby Judith may be alive has to do with her car seat. Even though it had blood in it, the straps were not ripped and torn as if a walker had grabbed her. Instead they were unbuckled and zombies do not seem to have that ability.
Then the question comes up if she is alive, why did whoever took her take her out of the car seat in the first place. It would be much quicker to just grab it and run. Anyone who is a parent knows how heavy those car seats can get and then you add in the weight of a growing infant. Also, it is difficult to carry a car seat without it jiggling from side to side and the angle that you have to carry it will slow people down. It would be much easier and will keep survivors moving quickly by simply carrying her.
But will viewers ever find out what her fate is? Robert Kirkman told The Hollywood Reporter,
“You can presume [that Judith is dead]; you'll never know until we know. We are keeping that as a mystery that will be revealed in the back half. That blood had to come from somewhere and I certainly wouldn't feel too comfortable about the status of that baby.”
Wet Paint is predicting that fans will find out the truth about baby Judith not in episode 9, but a few episodes later. Chances are that another member of the group grabbed her and since they went in all different directions, she really could be anywhere. As for whether the group will meet back up, there wouldn't be much of a show without them. Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly,
“He and Carl are gonna be on their own for a bit. There’s some pretty dark stuff on the road ahead. They’re both in pretty bad shape. This will be the low for a while and then we’ll find a new one later on, hopefully.”
Do you think that baby Judith is dead or alive? When do you think that "The Walking Dead" viewers will find out what happened to her?
