"The Walking Dead" mid-season finale ended with sadness and loss in many different ways. With the Governor and Hershel dead, having to flee the prison, baby Judith presumed dead and everyone separated, the second half of season 4 is going to be very different. On Jan. 24, Latin Times revealed what viewers can expect from the characters when the show returns.

Warning: If you do not want to know "The Walking Dead" season 4 spoilers, then stop reading.

As fans are predicting, the characters want to reunite, but executive producer Gale Ann Hurd said that there are some people who chose to leave others behind. This is an interesting statement and it makes one wonder who is going to be left behind and why. Will it be any of the major characters from the core group? If so, will they still appear on the show or will they just disappear?

Two characters that fans have been wondering about are Lizzie and Mika. On the mid-season finale, Lizzie shot Alisha, which saved Tyreese's life. Scott Gimple told Vulture that they would be addressing that moment in the future. As fans remember, the girls were supposed to go to the bus with baby Judith but instead grabbed guns and participated in the battle. The three of them seem to have left the prison together, but some viewers are speculating that Tyreese went back to get baby Judith. Melissa McBride and Chad Coleman, who play Carol and Tyreese respectively, have been seen with infant twins on set. This makes is quite possible that Tyreese and Carol will meet up and they will protect Judy.

If the girls are still with Tyreese is unknown. A sneak peek showed the girls together, holding hands as they walk down train tracks. Another shot shows them in the woods with Lizzie looking down and Mika ends up firing a weapon. Even though they are together, it is unknown if they are with Tyreese or not.

As for Rick and Carl, father will become more firm with his son and while sneak peeks and photographs show Carl taking on more responsibility, he seems to be also taking more risks. There is also a shot of him with two zombies nearby and he turns to look back, which is a deadly mistake. Will these risks end up getting him killed? Or will they get Rick killed if he has to swoop in to save his son?

Michonne was next to Hershel when he was executed and she will be dealing with that. Actress Danai Gurira said,

“Being right next to Hershel when that happened, it’s really a question of what does this damage to Michonne. How is she going to process that loss. it’s very tricky for her to find peace considering all the destruction that’s happened.”

Greg Nicotero told fans that the characters are going to have some really personal moments and Andrew Lincoln stated that the second half of season 4 will be more of a "psychological horror."

"The Walking Dead" season 4 returns to AMC on Feb. 9.
