On a trailer that AMC released on the season break, fans saw walkers invade the prison. Daryl runs up to a little boy and swoops him up and the rest of the prison residents are running and screaming. Many theories before the premiere stated that the walkers were making their way in, but "30 Days Without an Accident" showed Patrick turn into a walker in the showers. Could it be that the walkers don't make their way in, but that they are already there because they are prison residents?
Spoilers indicated that 12 people would die, but on the season premiere, only one person died in the prison (this is excluding the crazy lady that Rick encountered.) Since Patrick is now a walker down in the showers, he will make his way towards the living, scratching and biting. They will become walkers and as their numbers increase, they will get closer to the main cell blocks and that is probably when the panic begins.
There is also the question of how Patrick died. He got sick very quickly, but viewers did not see him get bit or scratched by a walker. So, how did it happen? Some fans believe that the virus is now infecting the animals. There were a few different shots of "Violet," their pig. Carl was concerned about her in the beginning of the episode and towards the end, Rick was starting at her as she lay in the corner, looking like she was about to die. Then you have Patrick thanking Daryl for the deer. Could the pig and deer have been sick?
What are your theories on the walker invasion that will be coming up? Do you have any ideas on how Patrick died on "The Walking Dead?
