Even though season 4 of "The Walking Dead" just began, there are already a lot of spoilers and theories coming out. Sometimes the show follows the comic books, but most of the time it goes in a slightly different direction. On Oct. 18, Wet Paint asked the question of if the Hunters would be making an appearance on the television series.
Warning: If you do not want to know possible season 4 spoilers or speculation, then stop reading.
In the comic books, a group existed known as the Hunters, who were cannibals. Rick and the group encounters them when they are on the road headed to Washington D.C. Dale, who was alive at this point in the comic book, ends up disappearing and the group goes searching for him. They notice that they are being watched by someone in the woods, which turns out to be the Hunters, who took Dale.
The leader, Chris, tells Rick that at first they were surviving on actual food, but then finding it became difficult. Then they began hunting lone survivors and even small groups because they discovered it was easier than hunting animals. Eventually, they even started to eat their own children.
It has already been announced that three comic book characters are being introduced in season 4 of "The Walking Dead." Viewers will meet Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) as well as Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos.)
Showrunner Scott Gimple told The Hollywood Reporter,
"We're going to tell a version of the Eugene, Abraham and Rosita comic stories, that's what we do."
"We're going to get to those characters in a bit but before that, we're going to be exploring a lot of different locations. We're at the prison the first two episodes. We start looking at other places in Episode 3 on but that isn't even tied with them yet."
It has also been revealed that like in the comics, Rick and the group will head to Washington D.C., but that will not happen until after the mid-season finale.
Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the television series said that episode 9 is going to be a huge one for Carl (Chandler Riggs.) In the comics, Woodbury attacks the prison and the group ends up going back to Hershel's farm. That is when they meet Abraham, Eugene and Rosita. Abraham, Rick and Carl decide to swing by Rick's hometown to check in on Morgan (who was also alive at this point in the comics.) However, they are attacked and one of them tries to rape Carl, but doesn't get the chance because Rick frees himself and kills him. Could this be Carl's big scene or perhaps a version of it?
What do you think will happen on season 4 of "The Walking Dead?" Will the Hunters be appearing on the television show? Could they be one of the new threats? What do you think will happen in episode 9 with Carl?
