Season 4 introduced viewers to Bob Stookey, who also was a character in the comic books. Sometimes the show follows the graphic novels, while other times it strays away from them. Fans are wondering what will happen to Bob this season. On Oct. 30, Wet Paint offered some theories.
In the comic books, Bob (Lawrence Gillliard, Jr.) arrived in Woodbury with a group and was known as the town drunk. After Michonne tortured the Governor, Bob ended up saving his life. Later, the Governor is killed during an attack on the prison. The graphic novels never do reveal what happened to Bob Stookey after that.
The only real similarities between the comic version of Bob and the television version is that he is an alcoholic who is a former Army medic.
When fans of the show "The Walking Dead" were introduced to Lawrence Gilliard, Jr's character, it was revealed that Daryl ended up rescuing him on the outside. He had been at the prison for only a week, so the group doesn't know him too well. But he is joining them on supply runs.
Where was Bob before Daryl found him? What is his past and does it have any connection to the present troubles at the prison? The actor told The Hollywood Reporter,
"I will say he was part of another group before he met up with Daryl and [the group at the prison] and before he was solo. I can't say much — all I can say is he ended up solo."
Some fans are speculating that he is a spy for the Governor, but Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. said,
"At the heart of Bob, he's a good person, but he's battling demons and sometimes the demons get the best of you. That's another thing that I like about the character, and what I get to do as an actor is to portray someone who is battling things and show his human side, because no one is born bad."
Wet Paint discussed the possibility of Bob dying during season 4. While the website couldn't answer that question, they believe that the character is going to stick around for awhile because there is so much mystery and questions surrounding him.
What do you think about Bob Stookey? Do you have any theories on what his future is on "The Walking Dead?"
