Another new character from the comic books has been cast on "The Walking Dead" season four. On Saturday, October 12 Wetpaint Entertainment revealed that actor Josh McDermitt will appear in the upcoming season as Dr. Eugene Porter. The character will be a series regular for season four, but will not appear in at least the first two episodes.
In the comic book series, Porter is an important character because he has knowledge of the outbreak which caused the zombie apocalypse. Porter, Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) are a surviving group that encounter the prison while they travel to Washington D.C.
The AMC television show does not follow the comics exactly, but takes bits and pieces and changes the story. Porter and the rest of the group will play a role in the expanding the apocalypse world more and see the survivors have to live outside the prison. In the comics, the prison survivors join up with the trio and leave the prison behind for D.C.
McDermitt is most known for his appearance on the television sitcom "Retired at 35" which ran for two seasons. The actor is also a comedian, who was a semi-finalist on the fourth season of the comedy competition "Last Comic Standing" on Comedy Central.
"The Walking Dead" will return with season four on Sunday, October 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Tune in to see the new characters like Bob Stookey, Abraham Ford, Rosita Espinosa, and Eugene Porter and see how their characters will fit into the new season.
