The highly anticipated fourth season of the AMC drama "The Walking Dead" will premiere this week, and it seems there may be some romance thrown in with the death and fear this season. On Tuesday, October 8 TVLine posted spoilers about whether or not Glenn and Maggie will get married this season.
Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) became engaged at the end of season three, with Maggie receiving a ring that Glenn found on a walker. The pair get married and Maggie gets pregnant in the comic book series, but the television show is known for not following the comics exactly and creating it's own story.
There is a six month time gap between season three and season four and Lauren Cohan mentioned that "we will see whether there is a wedding or not" so it probably hasn't happened yet. The romance is a change from the violent walker deaths and constant danger the show reveals, but the duo still have to stay alive in order to be married.
It may be more dangerous for Glenn and Maggie to be married in the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, since marriage doesn't exempt them from dying. The ceremony would probably be performed by Maggie's father, Hershel, and he is rumored to be one of the several deaths coming this season.
"The Walking Dead" returns on Sunday, October 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC. The fourth season will contain sixteen episodes, eight of which will air through December and the remaining eight will begin airing in February. Tune in to see who lives and dies and how the lovers find happiness in the wake of a new threat.
