"The Walking Dead" Season 4, episode 3 "Isolation," debuted on AMC on Sunday, October 27. Fans were left wondering who is feeding the walkers, who murdered and burnt Karen and David, and other questions concerning the new virus. While "Isolation" answered many of those questions, mystery continues to surround the prison. Note that spoilers are below if you missed "Isolation" or are not caught up with "The Walking Dead."
Glenn, Maggie, and a few others are outside digging graves for their recent fallen friends. Hershel is in the 'infected' wing of the prison checking on the patients. In the meantime, Tyreese is going crazy over Karen's death. Daryl and Rick try to calm him down, but anger gets the best of Tyreese and he gets into a brief fight with Rick that results in minor injuries. Hershel attends to Rick's strained hand, he instructs him to be careful with it for a while.
Hershel, Glenn, and Sasha are outside on a section of the prison when Sasha begins to cough. Concerned, Hershel and Glenn walk towards her but Sasha warns them to stay away and heads to the 'infected' wing on her own. At a council meeting, Hershel suggests some members go out on a run for antibiotics and other medicine. The one's that go are Daryl, Michonne, Bob, and Tyreese.
Rick goes to try and talk to Tyreese again. Tyreese demands that Karen's killer is found, and soon. Rick however, wants to concentrate on healing the sick first and separating the healthy from the ill. This doesn't sound like a good plan to Tyreese and he leaves angry.
Glenn is in his cell, Maggie comes in but he keeps her away because he is now sick.
Daryl and Michonne are packing up the car to go on their run. At first, Tyreese refuses to go with Daryl because he wants to keep an eye on his sister, Sasha.
Carol is in charge of escorting the sick into the infected cell blocks. She is heartbroken when one of the little girls she's grown to care about is sick. Meanwhile, Hershel goes to the woods accompanied by Carl. They come across a walker but Hershel tells Carl not to shoot because there is really no need.
After talking to Sasha, Tyreese decides to go with Daryl, he wants to help in finding medicine for his sister. Before leaving, he asks Carol to keep an eye on Sasha.
Maggie catches up to her dad, wanting him to go into quarantine. Hershel refuses, saying he is needed more by the sick. Rick joins and agrees with Maggie that Hershel will most likely become infected if he walks in there with the ill. Hershel insists that he wants to risk his life if it means helping others and giving them a fighting chance.
Rick investigates the scene where Karen and David's bodies were found, hoping there's a clue as to who did this. He later goes outside just in time to warn Carol that there are walkers heading her way. They both get out of there safe.
On their way to a pharmacy, Daryl and the others hear a voice on the radio. Since they were not paying attention, they crash into a walker and are quickly surrounded by a giant herd of them. The car is stuck so they have no choice but to come out and fight off as many as they can to get to safety. Tyreese doesn't seem to care and stays in the car for a long while. Finally, Tyreese exits the car and is quickly surrounded by walkers. Comic fans are reminded of the time Tyreese took on a bunch of walkers on his own. Daryl, Michonne, and Bob have no choice but to leave Tyreese in order to get out of the herd. They hear something coming from the bushes and it's Tyreese among more walkers. If would have been cool to see just how Tyreese managed to escape the circle of walkers, but at least fans know he is alive.
Back at the prison, Hershel is helping the doctor, who has gotten severely ill. He gives him a drink and the doc begins to cough up blood and it splatters on Hershel's face. Hershel was wearing a scarf to try and protect himself from the virus, but he removes it to wipe the blood from his face and does not put it back on. He later goes to help Glenn out, who is not in very good shape.
The episode concludes with Rick asking Carol if she is the one who killed Karen and David. Carol doesn't hesitate to answer with a cold, "Yes," and walks off.
