'The Walking Dead' season 4 spoilers: Danai Gurira talks Michonne

The second half of the fourth season of "The Walking Dead" is introducing more and more drama, but it's also revealing more about the past lives of the main characters. Actress Danai Gurira, who plays the katana wielding survivor Michonne, revealed that fans can expect from the character on Thursday, February 13 to Wetpaint Entertainment.

Since being introduced at the end of season two, the usually silent character has been a valued member of team prison. She found a horse and went on supply runs to made sure everyone had enough food and looked for The Governor is case he tried to attack. After helping Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) search a local town, she won his trust and earned a place in the group.

Gurira talked about Michonne connecting "with her rage" and "preparing to kill someone" since she was hunting The Governor for the back half of season three. She uses her katana to kill walkers and unleash her bottled up anger towards her situation. The character has had many pensive moments throughout the series and just as many action ones in which she battles herds of walkers.

Gurira mentioned breaking down the scripts for each episode into "emotional beats," detailing when she should show emotion and in what way. This is a bit of a surprise since Michonne has shown plenty of rage at The Governor especially after killing him, but rarely shows vulnerability. Viewers saw Michonne cry earlier in season four after holding Baby Judith and then learned she had a child of her own before the outbreak.

"Inmates," the tenth episode of the fourth season will air on Sunday, February 16 at 9 p.m. on AMC. The episode will follow the story of at least four different groups of survivors as well as introduce three new characters from the comic book series. Michonne was resourceful enough to find Rick and Carl so she will probably be surviving at least a little longer.
