On Thursday, October 10 Comingsoon.net posted a sneak peek for "30 Days Without an Accident," the first episode of the fourth season of "The Walking Dead," which will return to AMC this week. The one and half minute clip shows that life has changed for the prison survivors, especially Rick Grimes.
The sneak peek opens with Rick walking out of the prison towards the yard, where many different types of food are growing. This confirms that time jump of about six months between the third season and the fourth season. There is no dialogue in the clip and Rick seems to have gotten over the hallucinations and has taken up farming.
Rick is alone in the prison yard and begins working on the soil. He is listening to music through headphones and is able to do that because of the power inside the prison. As he is digging, Rick discover that a handgun has been buried in the dirt and picks it up. Walkers have started to gather at the fences and Rick finally notices them when he looks up.
The cast and executive producers have already revealed that the walkers will become a more dangerous threat this season and a new threat will be revealed. The clip features many changes that the prison has gone through like better defenses and a more permanent future.
"30 Days Without an Accident" will air Sunday, October 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC. The first episode will introduce new characters, new changes and not entirely explain the events of the season three finale. The Governor will not appear in the first two episodes of season four and will have two stand alone episodes later in the new season.
