In the "The Walking Dead" season 4 premiere, viewers met Patrick (Vincent Martella,) who seemed to idolize Daryl. Usually when a character is introduced and is seen throughout an episode, it is for a reason. Most of the time, that reason is because they are going to be in several episodes. However, that was not the plan for Patrick, but there is a very good reason for it according to an Oct. 14 report by Zap2It.

The "Phineas & Ferb" actor was seen throughout the episode. Fans could not have guessed that he would be killed so quickly. Some actors become upset when they are killed off, especially right away, but not Vincent Martella. It turns out he is a fan of the show and understood the significance of his character. He also said that he would have still been excited if he just had one line.
It turns out that Vincent Martella wasn't killed off just for kicks. He said,
"I think it reminds all of the survivors and the audience watching that there are a lot of other dangers to living in this type of environment, this post-apocalyptic world that they live in. There are a lot of other dangers besides the walkers, and I think sometimes everyone forgets about that. Something as simple as sickness, without the proper supplies and in the wrong living conditions, can actually be just as deadly, if not more so, than a group of walking dead outside the gates of your prisons."
The mystery illness is a threat, but it won't be the only one. Previous spoilers have revealed that there are multiple threats, so it should be an interesting season.
The actor also said,
"I think it's definitely a gamechanger, and I think audiences are going to love how this group has to deal with this problem, because everyone's going to have to deal with it in their own way."
What did you think about Vincent Martella's character dying and turning into a walker on "The Walking Dead" season 4 premiere?
