‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4: Have we seen the last of the virus?

Besides the mini sneak peeks that have aired for the second half of “The Walking DeadSeason 4, there is not much known about what’s to come. From the small clips, all fans know is that the prison gang is still divided into small groups. Are walkers and people the only threat again, or will the virus still be around? On Wednesday, January 8, WetPaint discussed the virus to speculate if we have seen the last of it or not.

Before the Governor attacked the prison, medicine had reached the sick. Sasha, Glenn, and the others were on the road to recovery – maybe Glenn a little less because he was in horrible shape by the mid-season finale – so will they all be healed by the time Season 4 returns? Whether there will be a time gap between the Season 4 mid-season finale is not yet known.

Greg Nicotero, the special effects expert, was asked if fans will be seeing more of the mysterious virus. “Yeah, it’s very possible,” he says, “I really don’t want to ruin anything, because I tend to talk a lot and I don’t want to give anything away and then in February you’ll call me and say, ‘You a-hole! You ruined that for me!”

Unless he is messing with us, it looks like we will at least be seeing some of the aftermath of the virus. Steven Yeun also told The Hollywood Reporter, “The flu definitely still plays a part; you don’t just heal right away – even if you have medicine, it takes time to recover from. A lot of that stuff will play.” Glenn didn’t look too good in the sneak peek, so he could see be recovering when we see him next.

“The Walking Dead” Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9. If you can't wait to find out what happens next, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to catch the latest spoilers on your newsfeed!
