There are just two episodes left on the fourth season of the AMC drama "The Walking Dead," and there are more questions than answers about what will happen to the characters. On Friday, March 21 Wetpaint Entertainment posted an interview with executive producer Gale Anne Hurd about what fans can expect from the season four finale "A," and setting up season five.
Hurd mentioned that the series is "all about human choices" and in a world with no real rules or structure the "characters will be pushed to their limit" in the final episode. The upcoming fifth season will also explore who the characters deal with their choices and whether they can come back from them.
The synopsis for the episode mentions that paths will collide, so it's possible Terminus will be in the episode and several of the prison groups will make it there. The summary also mentions "Rick faces sheer brutality" and it's likely that Rick will come face to face with Joe, the leader of the group who entered the house Rick was staying in during "Claimed." Joe will want revenge on Rick for attacking his men and getting away. Daryl is currently traveling with Joe and his group so it will be interesting to see what happens with Daryl and Rick on opposite sides of a fight.
The translation for Terminus is "end of the line" so it's fitting the so called sanctuary would appear in the final episode of the season. Rick, Michonne, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Tara, Bob, Sasha, Abraham, Rosita and Eugene are all heading for Terminus, which is the mysterious place that was emitting radio signals that Daryl discovered on a car radio many episodes ago.
People have speculated that the title refers to the Alexandria Safe Zone mentioned in the comic book series, but Terminus is in Georgia according to the maps shown on the series. "A" really stands for answers, which will be given once the characters make it to Terminus. Cast members and executive producers have described the finale as "savage" and the biggest the show has ever done.
The penultimate episode "Us," will air on Sunday, March 23 at 9 p.m. on AMC. The season four finale "A" will air on Sunday, March 30. Tune in to find out the fate of the prison survivors and the new characters. The fifth season will begin filming in May near Atlanta and is expected the begin airing in October.
