On Friday, January 31 Wetpaint Entertainment posted spoilers for the season four finale of the zombie apocalypse drama "The Walking Dead," which will be the sixteenth episode of the season and introduce new character and new locations. The official synopsis is listed below:
Many paths collide; Rick faces sheer brutality; the group struggles to survive.
The second half of the fourth season will focus more on individual characters like Carl, Daryl and Michonne rather than large events. Some episodes will feature multiple story lines and it seems all of these characters will collide in the season finale. There will also be more character deaths, but it seems Rick is the only confirmed safe survivor that makes it to the finale.
The season four finale will also set up season five, which has already been renewed, and it's possible more characters from the comic book series will be joining the story. The title, "A," could refer to the safe zone in Alexandria which Rick and the other survivors go to after meeting a group of survivors heading there to find information about the outbreak. That group includes Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos) who will all appear early in the second half of the season.
The brutality that Rick faces could have something to do with The Hunters, a villainous group of survivors near the safe zone that Rick faces off with in the comics. A newcomer named Gareth (Andrew J. West) was cast recently and it's possible he will play a version of Chris, the leader of The Hunters. Introducing this group in the finale makes sense if they will be the main villains in season five.
"A" will air on Sunday, March 30 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Tune in to find out what the fifth season of the hit show will include from the comic book series. Production for the new season will begin in May in the Atlanta area and the episodes airing on television in the late fall.
