‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: How many more will die? (Photos)

The showrunners behind “The Walking Dead” warned fans early on that no one is safe in the hit zombie apocalypse show. Characters have been killed left and right since the first episode, so they are really not kidding around. On Friday, Feb. 8, WetPaint revealed spoilers for character deaths to come in the second half of season three.

After the sad death of little Sophia, followed by the brutal kill of the group’s most moral character, Dale, fans braced themselves for future deaths to come. The most shocking and saddest deaths to date, however, are T-Dog’s and Lori’s. T-Dog died a hero, and though his lines were few, it wasn’t until he was killed off that he was most loved and missed. Comic fans saw Lori’s death coming, but that didn’t make it any less depressing. Her last words to Carl really pulled on fans heartstrings. And when Rick learned the news of his wife’s passing, fans could no longer hold their tears back.

So who can fans expect to kick the bucket next? Well, WetPaint says, “A few more.” Now, this isn’t necessarily bad news, as this could mean anyone from a Woodbury member or new character that fans have not yet attached to.

First off, there’s the Governor. According to WetPaint, the Governor can’t go on past season three because, “how can we be satisfied unless The Governor is brought down?” So there’s a strong chance that we will see the malicious leader bite the dust by the end of the season.

Axel is already a goner, as he is seen being used as a body shield by Carol in what appears to be an attack at the prison in a previously release promotional clip.

Tyreese’s group, which consists of his sister Sasha, Allen, and Ben, can’t all survive. In the comics, Tyreese is a pretty strong character, so he is most likely safe – at least for this season. This leaves the other three, one or two are sure to go, maybe even all three!

WetPaint also says, “In the comics, there’s a suicide pact plotline between two teenage characters – Tyreese’s daughter and her boyfriend – so it’s possible they’ll just transfer that plotline to another couple…like maybe Beth and new prison guy Ben.” Of course, Tyreese’s ‘daughter’ is his sister in the show. I doubt Beth will be in the suicide plot though, she is very supportive of her father and sister, Maggie, and seems to be the primary caretaker for baby Judith. She is also very young though, and could be persuaded and manipulated by Ben. Previous spoilers revealed that there will in fact be a suicide happening in a future episode, not “The Suicide King,” though.

Speculated to die is also Milton, that’s almost a given though. Like the Governor, Milton won’t be seeing past season three.

Carol dies in the comics, so is she safe? It’s a 50/50 on this one. The show already had a chance to kill her off but surprised many with her return. So why keep her alive only to kill her later? Then again, “The Walking Dead” does whatever they want!

Fans are also calling the death of Andrea. Poor, misunderstood Andrea will be given a chance to redeem herself though and plays an important role in the comics, so she’s probably safe.

It hasn’t been easy for the couple Glenn and Maggie, and things aren’t going to settle down any time soon. WetPaint believes that Glenn is getting carried away with his hate and desire for revenge, so he’s not exactly in the safe zone. Fans would hate to see him, or Maggie, go, but the source says that a couple of major deaths have to happen.

As far as Rick, Carl, and fan favorite Daryl Dixon, sources are all saying they are safe – at least for this season. While showrunners like to kill off main characters, they know better than to hurt Daryl – fans are ready to raise hell if this ever happens.

The fate of Daryl’s brother Merle Dixon isn’t looking too good though. Woodbury can’t trust him, and despite a few scenes shown of him with Rick’s group, he can’t be trusted there either.

Morgan returns this season! And dies this season, possibly in the same episode – you can read all about that in a previous spoiler.
