'The Walking Dead' season 3 returns: Fans tweet their enthusiasm (Video)

'The Walking Dead' season 3 returns as reported at The Walking Dead website on Feb. 10, 2013. The show, after a mid-season hiatus, returns to season three on Feb. 10, 9 p.m. EST on AMC. As noted at the site, the zombie show, based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, is "the most watched drama in basic cable history." The main characters of "The Walking Dead" season 3 are actors Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), David Morrissey (The Governor), Laurie Holden (Andrea), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee), and Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene).

The ratings for season three's mid-season finale were enormous, reaching 15.2 million viewers. Reports Screen Rant, "To put into perspective how impressive the numbers are, 'The Walking Dead' mid-season finale even bested the 13.5 million average viewers the series finale of ABC’s 'Lost' earned in 2010. 'The Walking Dead' also beat its own records by outdoing last year’s mid-season finale by 58% and October’s 10.9 million views for the season 3 premiere."

Now that the mega zombie show has returned, Twitter is heating up for the debut with the hash tag #TheWalkingDead. What are some of the fans tweeting? (Tweets appear exactly as posted.)
