'The Walking Dead' season 3: Merle softens as a Carol and Daryl romance blooms?

“The Walking Dead” offers up another new episode for season 3 tonight as “Arrow on the Door Post” has Rick and the Governor contemplating some type of truce. As The Independent on Sunday, March 10, 2013 explains, last week’s episode offered an “intermission” in the prison and Woodbury conflict. Tonight, this picks back up with Rick having more of his facilities about him than previously.

With four episodes remaining in season 3, what viewers will experience in the coming weeks will eventually all pull together for the jaw-dropping finale. While viewers might see some inconsistencies and experience some confusion around the character’s actions in the next few episodes, this is explained in the season finale, according to the executive producer of the show.

Andrea is the most confusing out of the key players in the next few episodes because you’re not sure where her allegiance lies, but viewer’s will know soon enough what she has in mind. The brother’s Dixon are together, but seem to keep each other at arm’s length.

Hints that Merle will follow in Daryl’s footsteps were offered up by Robert Kirkman, the executive director of “The Walking Dead.” Instead of Merle getting on the folk’s nerves, he starts to reform, much like his brother did after being with Rick’s group over time.

There’s still a chance to see a romance blossom between Carol and Daryl. It has been coming for some time now, so will they do the deed before the season ends? Kirkman hints to a relationship growing closer for this odd couple, according to the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.

Morgan’s return to the show did just what many of the viewer’s thought it did, help to snap Rick out of his journey of insanity. After seeing what has become of his once, very together friend, Rick realizes that he too is not far from Morgan’s state of mind and this jars him back to reality. He is going to need all his wits about him for what the Governor is planning for the prison dwellers.

One of the more heartwarming scenes to come out of “The Walking Dead,” was last week between two unlikely characters, Carl and Michonne. Rick took Michonne along with him and Carl as they went back to their hometown to gather up firearms and ammunition in preparation for a showdown with the Governor.

This was a bit of a test for Michonne, Rick needed to feel her out and see who she really is and if she had any hidden agendas, said Kirkman. Carl told his father, “she’s one of us,” which was enough for Rick to see Michonne as a friend rather than an enemy.

Did anyone scratch their heads when Michonne appeared with the picture in her hands after being gone for such a short period of time. She went back in the walker filled restaurant, but is she really that quick? For sure Michonne scored a few points with the viewers too, when the softer side of her surfaced.

Sunday night watch for Rick to show up for a talk with the Governor, who has something else in mind rather than working on a treaty. Check out “Arrow on the Door Post” Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
