It's hard to believe that four seasons of "The Walking Dead" have already come and gone. Now fans are preparing for season 5, especially since the season finale left a cliffhanger. Beth's whereabouts are still unknown, Rick and most of the others are trapped at Terminus and there are other questions that need answers. So what can viewers look forward to when the zombie series returns in October 2014? ScreenCrush reported on Monday that Scott Gimple has promised more action in the upcoming season.

Fans know that there will be some action when the show returns because Rick and the others are going to have to find a way out of Terminus. Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman have not confirmed that they are cannibals. Gimple even went as far as to say in an interview with the print edition of TV Guide not to assume cannibalism just because of a pile of bones. However, E! Online posted that Rick would be recruiting people to get revenge on those "man-eating freaks who run Terminus."

Even though it is expected that actions and violence will be necessary to deal with Terminus, Gimple's promise about more action in "The Walking Dead" season 5 seem to imply that there will be plenty of action throughout the season. The writers did do quite a bit of character development last season, which did reveal more information about the characters. But now it is time to get back down to business.

As for what else fans can expect, Gimple spoke to Larry King about the possible return of Morgan, played by Lennie James. Last year there were rumors that the actor would be appearing on the final two episodes of season 4. However, that turned out to be false and Scott Gimple told Entertainment Weekly that he was misquoted. Even though there is no word on when the actor will return, the showrunner is doing everything he can to make it happen.

Fans will also find out Beth's fate in season 5 and although nobody has said that she is alive, there are hints that the character has not been died. Actress Emily Kinney recently posted a photo to Instagram of her meeting with the writers to talk about the upcoming season. AMC's blog revealed that Gimple said that Beth is somewhere and that it will be both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

There will also be a romance other than Glenna and Maggie. There is a lot of speculation on which characters will find love in season 5. Some fans believe Daryl will find romance while others are betting on Rick and Michonne, Bob and Sasha or Abraham and Rosita.

What are your theories on "The Walking Dead" season 5? How will Rick and Team Prison get out of Terminus? Which characters will find romance when the show returns? What do you think happened to Beth?
