Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” has been filming for a while now and fan favorite, Daryl Dixon actor, Norman Reedus took some time from his busy schedule to talk about the show as reported June 24 by TV Fanatic. Reedus had quite a lot to say on the subject of season 5.

“These scripts are the best scripts so far, and I’m really just excited to be back at it,” the actor said. “There are a lot of characters right now, so there are a lot of really different personalities on set. And it’s super interesting, everyone’s really bringing it. It’s going great. It’s so dynamic because it’s so fast-paced and so complicated. It’s great to be back.”

That’s very encouraging but it doesn’t reveal much about what’s going or what fans can expect from the fifth season of the zombie drama. Reedus was asked about the return of a more kick-a$$-and-take-names Rick Grimes. He confirmed that the more proactive and aggressive Rick is indeed back.

“Everybody on the whole team is so badas* right now,” says Reedus. “It’s interesting, because a lot of personalities are clashing, or characters’ personalities are clashing. But yeah, we definitely have Rick back.”

What exactly is meant by “characters clashing” is unclear. It could refer to a lover’s quarrel between Maggie and Glenn or a power struggle for control of the group in the boxcar, maybe between Rick and Abraham.

The show now filming season 5 is under the steady direction of Scott Gimple for the second year. He replaced Glen Mazzara, who had replaced Frank Darabont. Reedus says Gimple is a great writer and great at what he does. “He’s such a great storyteller and such a good writer. He has this thing planned out to the end, I think. He’s definitely very qualified for the job. I never felt like we weren’t stable, though. I feel like we’re as stable as we ever were, just we have the confidence that we have this team back. It’s such a well-oiled machine right now. It’s great, and everyone feels super confident.”

We’re delighted that Reedus is so confident about the show, the group of characters and the stable, well-oiled machine that “The Walking Dead” has become. It means the anticipation is going to be unbelievable by the time the premiere gets here.

Whether the folks at Terminus turn out to be cannibals or not, it is clear they are up to something fishy. Gareth and his men are a bit of a murky mystery at this point. As International Business Times speculated, Rick and Abraham are both leaders and could butt heads over the best course of action. Tyreese and Carol will have to deal with her confession about killing Karen, which is bound to have an effect on their relationship.

“The Walking Dead” will return on AMC in the fall. Until then, keep checking back for updates and spoilers as they become available.
