The Walking Dead resurrects during AMC's FearFest

The Walking Dead Premieres on Halloween Night...

Fresh off an appearance at the NY Comic Con and Anime Convention at the Jacob Javits Center, the cast and crew of the hot new horror and macabre drama, ‘The Walking Dead’ makes its debut Halloween night during AMC FearFest, at 10pm. The story is adapted from the classic horror comics created by Robert Kirkman.

The Walking Dead is a big screen quality film made for television via AMC Golden Globe® Award Winner for Best Television Series - Drama three years in a row. That’s sure to keep its audience captivated for many seasons to come. At the helm of this television horror epic is Writer, Executive Producer and three-time Academy® Award-nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile).

His vision of this scary and moving drama is reminiscent of the twilight zone and the classic zombie thriller, George Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ whom he says is one of his major influences for this macabre project.

The debut show will be a 90 minute saga based on County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma. He awakens finding himself utterly alone and wondering what happened to the world he left behind; before slipping into a coma after being shot while on duty.

The show is based on a group of towns’ people residing in a rural district of Georgia. It was actually shot on location in Atlanta, GA. The cast and crew had to endure the grueling heat of Georgia’s summer while shooting this edge of your seat zombie thriller.
The chemistry and fluidity flowing throughout this wonderful ensemble cast, as well as the believably moving performances leads one to believe that The Walking Dead cast members were hand picked for their roles. I was blown away by the show’s authenticity!

Cast members include: Andrew Lincoln (Teachers, Love Actually) as Rick Grimes, Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Writer) as Shane Walsh, Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) as Lori Grimes, Laurie Holden (The Shield, Stephen King’s The Mist) as Andrea, Jeffrey DeMunn (Stephen King’s The Mist, The Green Mile) as Dale, Steven Yuen (The Big Bang Theory) as Glen, Emma Bell (The Bedford Diaries) as Amy,  Chandler Riggs (Get Low) as Carl Grimes and Norman Reedus as Daryl.

Joining Darabont is famed (Aliens) and the (Terminator) Producer, Gail Ann Hurd and Robert Kirkman who also serves as an Executive Producer, David Alpert from Circle of Confusion; and Charles “Chic” Eglee (Dexter, The Shield), Jack LoGiudice (Sons of Anarchy, Resurrection Blvd) who serves as Co-Executive Producer with Denise Huth (Stephen King’s the Mist) as Producer.

The Walking Dead was written by Darabont, Eglee, LoGiudice, Kirkman, Glen Mazzara and Adam E. Fierro. In addition to Darabont, Directors for the series include: Michelle MacLaren, Gwyneth Horder Payton, Johan Renck, Ernest Dickerson and Guy Ferland. The creative team also includes: the effects team veteran special effects makeup designer Greg Nicotero, special effects coordinator Darrell Pritchett, and visual effects supervisors Sam Nicholson and Jason Sperling. The Walking Dead is top quality horror and drama series brought to you on the small screen in a big way. My hats off to AMC and The Walking Dead cast and crew.
