It’s over. If you watched the midseason finale of “The Walking Dead,” take a deep breath and let it out slowly. If you missed “Too Far Gone,” take a deep breath and let it out slowly before you read on. The episode which aired Sunday, Dec. 1 was a real heart-stopper and here’s who died or vanished in the show according to the Dec.1 report on Wetpaint.
The Governor made a big show of wanting to take the prison peacefully. He rallied his people and taken Michonne and Herschel hostage to bolster the notion that he won’t use the tank if Rick and his people simply leave by sundown.
Rick, using his best negotiator tactics, warns The Governor that the prison will be destroyed if he uses the tank to take it by force and then they all lose out. He suggests instead they learn to live together in peace. The Governor is not interested in negotiating and to prove how serious he is, takes Michonne’s katana and slices Herschel’s neck. As he does so, Lilly arrives in time to see Herschel beheaded and The Governor utters the war-starting line, “Kill them all!”
Before The Governor can kill Rick, Michonne, who has gotten her sword back, stabs the Gov in the chest. It is a fatal wound but before he dies, Lilly shoots him in the head.
The fighting continues. The prison is torn apart and the residents have scattered. Couples and families are separated. At the end of the episode, Rick finds baby Judith’s car seat with blood in it but signs of her. Was she killed? Eaten? Saved by someone who took her?
What do you think of the midseason finale? Did The Governor get his deserved death? Do you think Judith made it out ok?
We will have to wait for the “The Walking Dead” to return in in February.
