After Patrick got sick and died/reanimated, he attacked cell block D where the new, (this season's new), survivors were sleeping. At least 15 of the survivors are no longer surviving, but they're not walking around either because the others arrived and offed those who reanimated.
How did Patrick get infected? That's the question the group is trying to figure out. What they came up with is that it's a virus and it's in the prison, they have all been infected.
The walkers who died of the virus have different wounds, they don't have bites. Their orifices are bleeding. It's more like an Ebola type virus. This scenario brings a question to my mind, a rare happening. Some of the walkers who died from the virus are at the fence. If they did die of the virus, and it seems like they did, that would mean there are living people close by, wouldn't it? Rick has just noticed them in episode one. Something to ponder.
The very first scene of the show featured someone with a flashlight and a live rat. The rat was fed through the fence to the walkers. What do you make of that? Someone inside is making sure the walkers are very interested in staying at the fences. This actually works well, later in the episode the fences are almost brought down by a large number of walkers.
The last scene of the show was a sad one indeed. Tyreese goes to give Karen flowers and finds that her room is bloody as hell and someone has been dragged outside. Actually, he finds evidence that more than one person has been dragged. Unfortunately, Tyreese finds Karen and another survivor dead and burned, still smoking ....
Here is my 'I'm going way out on a limb' prediction.
I believe it's The Governor, living somewhere in or around the prison, who is messing with the survivors? I also predict that we will not actually see The Governor until the finale. Thoughts?
