This weeks episode of the Walking Dead was titled "I ain’t a Judas" meaning that "I" am not a traitor. Which seems to be accurate as the show focused around the complications and ever changing situations of living in the world during a zombie apocalypse. Nothing in this life is easy for anyone.
Andrea seemed conflicted through the whole episode and went from one side to the other and back again. She doesn’t understand why the prison group and the Woodbury group can’t find some kind of peace. The Governor starts drafting the people of Woodbury into his army, including children over age 13, and Rick and prison group go over their options of what to do next. Things for them are more complex now that they have a baby and an older man with one leg. Andrea’s bond and emotions flop back and forth between the two groups, trying to find a solution that doesn’t end in bloodshed.
"I Ain’t a Judas" has a lot to do with Andrea. She believes that Woodbury is worth saving. Michonne thinks that Andrea is taking it upon herself to play savior in this situation and believes that its an insane notion, telling her, "I did not realize the messiah complex was contagious." This left Andrea thinking more and more about Carol’s suggestion when she got back to Woodbury.
The Governor told Andrea that if she goes to visit the prison, she should not come back. She knows that the Governor had gone to the prison and that there was a shootout, but he told her that Rick’s group fired the first shot. When she got to the prison Rick and the group didn’t exactly welcome her with open arms. She tried to talk them out of going to war with Woodbury. The prison group recommends that if she really wants to help that she should kill the Governor. Carol tells her to go back to Woodbury and sleep with the Governor and put an end to it all by killing him. The Governor welcomes her back with open arms. It looks as though she is going to go through with it but she doesn’t do him in.
Everything comes to a close with Beth singing a rendition of "Hold On" by Tom Waits while Rick holds his baby girl and the group discusses what their next move will be. The song seems very appropriate after everything that has happened and could happen in the future. Next weeks episode should prove to be very interesting.
