After a season of not knowing what happened to Morgan, in the latest episode of “The Walking Dead” which aired March 3, Rick finally found Morgan. Despite Carl and Mishon seeing Morgan as well, many fans interviewed, on March 3 and March 4, believe it was another one of Rick's delusions on “The Walking Dead.”
“I don't think Rick really found Morgan,” Ken Shelton, a fan of “The Walking Dead” from Oklahoma City, said. “I really think it was another one of his delusions. The only thing he has left to hold on to from his past life is Carl, who has lost faith in him. Morgan is as close to that past life as he can get and he's grasping at straws.”
Morgan was the first person Rick had contact with after he woke up from the coma and found himself in a world of walkers. Morgan saved his life and explained the new reality. Rick left Morgan, promising to stay in touch with him.
“I have to wonder how much of 'The Walking Dead' is real,” Linda Dawson, a fan of “The Walking Dead” from Norman, said. “Comic books move in and out of reality all the time. People die and then come back to life. They move from one reality to another. I don't see why this would be any different. 'The Walking Dead' is based on a comic book.”
“The Walking Dead” started out as a comic book. This wildly popular comic book then became a television series on AMC.
“Rick is teetering on the edge,” Shelton continued. “I don't think it is too much of a stretch that he is imagining seeing Morgan. If we can believe zombies have taken over the planet, then imagining Rick is seeing someone other than Lori isn't that hard.”
Rick has been seeing Lori. He has also talked to several members of his group that have died over a telephone that doesn't work. Morgan being part of Rick's delusions is entirely possible, in a world filled with walkers.
“I have a feeling that when the series ends, we will have a 'Sixth Sense' moment,” Dawson continued. “I think the giant reveal will be that none of it really happened. Everything that happened to Rick wold be stuff he just dreamed up while in a coma or as he made his way to the other side as he died.”
Although no one involved in “The Walking Dead” has addressed if what is happening is real or not, there is always that possibility. Strange twists and turns have been promised in recently released spoilers for “The Walking Dead” and in interviews by members of “The Walking Dead” cast. Fans will have to keep watching “The Walking Dead” on AMC to learn exactly how delusional Rick is.
